Echinacea, or Purple coneflower is a native prairie plant and has a long history of use on this continent.
I learned years ago from David Winston that the flowers & leaves have the same activity as the root, so my preference is not to dig up a medicinal plant unnecessarily.
I also prefer mixing the two Echinacea together. Echinacea acts as both an immune stimulant and fights infections. The combination creates a balanced medicine with potent antimicrobial and antiviral properties, widely applicable for respiratory tract infections and immune modulation. Make your own tincture or add to your cold remedy formulas.
A home medicine chest MUST. Everyone’s favorite infection fighter.
Matthew Wood teaches that it is effective against putrid infections, including snakebites and gangrene. Yikes.
