Goldenseal root powder (Hydrastis canadensis)

Sometimes called “the herbal antibiotic”.  Goldenseal root has a long history of use among indigenous cultures of the northeast, its native habitat.

Goldenseal is a rare and protected plant, difficult to cultivate, and should only be used when absolutely necessary. Please don’t collect plants from the wild, or ever purchase wildcrafted goldenseal!  In fact, you might consider cultivating some if you live in the eastern woodlands.

I include a small amount in my Baby Powder formula, and use it in the treatment of persistent sinus infections.  Please try Barberry root powder in most circumstances.
