The Dreaming Goddess of Malta represents the Shamanic Journey.

Sleep prophesy. They dreamed in temple chambers underground on the island of Malta in the Mediterranean. There, underground temple chambers shaped like the body of the goddess were made for this purpose.  The original of this sculpture was found in the Hypogeum in Malta, and can be seen in the National Museum there.

Following the influence of dream imagery is one of the most ancient techniques of spiritual growth. Native American “vision quests” and Tibetan “dream yoga” are but two traditional examples of a practice whose modern champions include Karl Jung and Joseph Campbell.

[National Museum, Valetta, Malta; c. 3200 BCE]

This 7″ gypsumstone statue, sandstone color finish is a stylized replica of the original.
