Tree Ring Mandala Workshop – SOLD OUT

Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery through the captivating art of mandalas with acclaimed artist Jill Althouse-Wood. Mandalas, circular arrangements of symbols, have been revered across spiritual traditions for their ability to focus the mind and facilitate meditation. Jill, known for her evocative forest scenes, introduces her spiritual practice of creating painted mandalas using the metaphorical language of tree rings.

Practitioners prepare by going inward and reflecting on personal growth and intuitive symbols as Jill guides us with meditation and creative journaling exercises. The second half of the workshop will be dedicated to creating a painted, drawn, and/or collaged tree-ring mandala. While this workshop is more about process than product, each person will leave with a final piece of artwork on 10 x10 inch stretched canvas. This workshop will occur over midday. We will be taking a short break; though not necessarily a full-stop for lunch. Please bring along protein-rich snacks/drinks.

Class will be held at Radiance, 13 W Grant St., Lancaster on Sunday, March 10 from 10 am – 2 pm. Cost for this class is $60. Registration must be in advance so we can plan for materials. Jill Althouse-Wood is an artist/writer who lives and works on the forested edge of the artist colony of Arden, Delaware. Her paintings and writing are deeply imbued with the sense of place.
